The summer Jazz Courses will last 5 days. Classes are held both in the morning and in the afternoon according to the course calendar . Open stage available in the Piazza Magliani Square to be followed by a nightly open stage at the Pub 30&31 where jam sessions are traditionally attended by both students and teachers.

1st Day, 8th August 2010 - Meeting in St. Antonio Monastery Cloister, where the students will be handed out the course materials (scores folder, badge with photo). Enrolment in the courses.

2nd Day, 9th August 2010
09.30 am: Welcome cocktail with the participants in the cloister of St. Antonio Monastery. Opening meeting and introduction to the courses.
10.30 am – 12.30 pm. Instrument class, lessons of guitar, drums, bass, saxophone, wind instruments, piano, voice.
03.00 - 05.00 pm. - First Form: Introduction to improvisation. Second Form: ensemble and repertoire rehearsals of the evening gig.

3rd Day, 10th August 2010
10.30 am – 12.30 pm. Instrument class, lessons of guitar, drums, bass, saxophone, wind instruments, piano, voice.

9.00 pm: The Students Final Concert


Morning: Instrument class (guitar, drums, bass, saxophone, piano and voice). Special care will be provided by the teachers for improvisation and instrument use.

Afternoon: ensemble music. Ensembles will be arranged by unquestionable choice of the teachers'. During these lessons the students will be guided by the teachers to prepare a repertoire for both the evening gigs and the jam sessions.

Evening: open stage in the Piazza. Every evening after the ensemble music lessons, Jazz in Laurino will provide the students with an equipped stage in the central square of Laurino for their gigs. Alternation of performers will be regulated by the teachers and the staff.

Night: Jam Session at the Pub 30&31: the Pub is open until late night and it will host the jam sessions of both students and teachers.

Final Concert: It is the last evening gig of the Festival in which all the students will perform on the central stage of the Piazza in Laurino. During the show students will be given a certificate of completion by the course teachers.

'Dennis Irwin' Scholarship: A scholarship is provided for each instrument class. The winning students will be awarded the scholarship during the final concert.
